Celebrate Oktoberfest with these Fall Party Ideas

Oktoberfest is a celebration of games and beer held at the end of September in Germany that attracts millions of people from around the world. If you can't make it to Munich this year, you can celebrate with a CLUBWAKA Oktoberfest at your next game.

Here are some fun ideas for hosting an Oktoberfest party:

  • Play kickball in Oktoberfest costumes like Lederhosen and dirndls.
  • Dress up in the colors of the German flag - black, red and gold, or the official colors of state of Bavaria - cobalt blue and white.
  • Set up a team Oktoberfest tent on the sidelines just like they do in Bavaria, or just cover your team dugout or picnic tables with colorful table cloths.
  • Bring pretzels for a team snack or hold a pretzel eating contest to see who can eat the most pretzels in 1 minute.
  • Drink out of beer steins or hold stein races. Fill your steins (with water) and break your team into 2. Teams race to drink all the steins without spilling. The fastest team who spilled the least amount of water wins.
  • Try a stein holding contest. Each teammate has to hold a full stein for as long as they can in one hand with their arm extended shoulder height. The goal of the game is to hold the stein the longest without spilling. Teammates are disqualified if they bend their elbows or drop their glasses below their shoulder.
