Summer Party Planning Tips from CLUBWAKA

Summertime is here and patio parties are all we can think about. Whether its a backyard cookout, or a summer beer tasting brunch, we’ll take any excuse to be outside with our friends.

If you’re planning a summer party, this list of tips and hacks will help you take it from good to great, and get you well on your way to a #funnersummer:

1. Have a rainout plan and communicate it to your guests. Even if its just moving inside for a game night, let your guests know what to expect if the weather gets spotty.

2. Plan out your party lighting. If you're having an evening soiree, check your patio bulbs and hang extra lights as needed so your guests won’t be in the dark.

3. Arrange seating areas and make sure you have enough chairs. Ask guests to bring extra camping chairs as needed.

4. Make a pitcher of sangria or offer a summer cocktail in a drink dispenser so people can serve themselves.

5. Try to prep as much food as you can in advance so you don’t get stuck in the kitchen or at the grill for the whole party.

6. Set up backyard games like a flip cup table, bocce ball, croquet, corn hole, or washers. These will be great ice breakers as guests arrive to the party.
7. Set up a picnic area for casual conversation and a laid back party vibe. Think, picnic blankets, yoga mats, pillows, poufs, etc. (A picnic area is also great for guests with small children.)

8. Leave out a basket of summer party essentials like sunscreen, bug spray, hand wipes, flash tats, etc…

9. Plan a playlist that will last at least 4-5 hours. As much as we’re all loving Despacito, we don’t want to hear it every hour.

10. Check your speaker volume so you don’t blast anyone’s ear drums. Spread the speakers out around the party and keep music at a lower volume so you don’t kill conversation.

11. If its a really hot day, surprise your guests with water balloons, a squirt gun fight, slip and slide, or just throw on the sprinkler and run through it.

12. Set up cooler + trash bag stations around the party for easy access to beverages and clean up.
