Congratulations Tack Whacket!Woe to those that sleep on the #8 seed! Tack Whacket put it all together in a dominant performance on Hollywood Division Championship night, besting defending champs Chuck Norris Delta Force 8-1 and The Grassy Best 9-1.With the Fall championship, Tack Whacket clinch an invite to the WAKA Leaders Cup World Kickball Championship, November 11 in San Diego.

Things to remember...- Arrive early! This is L.A. - parking and traffic are always bad. :)
- Shoot Rock Paper Scissors (best 2 of 3) to determine home team, before each regular season game. - When your team is scheduled to Ref (which will happen 4 times during the regular season), you must supply either 2 or 3 referees. Referees should be SOBER, familiar with the WAKA Rules and ask any questions beforehand. (NEW: Refs should sign the Referee Sign-in Sheet in the equipment bag to be eligible for Referee Rewards.) - Warm up outside of the play field - games must start on time! - After game time, you have 15 minutes grace period to field a team of at least 4 males and 4 females. (The grace period is not practice time - if enough players are present, the game must begin, and latecomers may be added to the bottom of the lineup if it has not yet been reached.) - Alcohol at the field is prohibited by Poinsettia Recreation Center. Violations place our permit at risk! - After games, we invite you to get your drink on at Big Wangs (1562 N Cahuenga Blvd at Selma), where WAKA players get 20% off food and beverage. - It's just kickball! Big
Wangs! Presenting... Big Wangs!
The Hollywood Division Bar is Big Wangs, at 1562 N Cahuenga Blvd. And with a name like Big Wangs, you know this is a place made for adult kickball players. (You know...hot & spicy Chicken Wangs... get it?) It's a great new joint and we look forward to spending many post-game hours there, drinking exceptionally low-priced beer. Everybody loves kickball... and everybody loves Big Wangs. You will too! WAKA IS OPENING NEW DIVISIONS ALL OVER SOCAL!Hollywood too far from you? Looking for a division closer to home? The new Dogtown and Studio Divisions bring WAKA kickball closer to people in the Westside and the Valley. Visit the WAKA home page for more information on the new Divisions. If you want to start a Division in your area, we're here to help. Click here to contact the division. PARK POLICIESAs stated by law, on our permit and as per WAKA rules, there is no alcohol, drugs or loud music allowed on park property. (Quiet music in the dugout or stands is fine, but please keep radios off the field.) As a division, we are enforcing this completely with no exceptions. Any player seen in the possession of any such items at the park will get their team ONE WARNING for the season. The team will also be requested to remove the items immediately from the field. Any future violations by the team will result in an automatic forfeit for their game that night (or next game if they do not play that night). Two or more forfeits from this violation will result in penalties imposed by division leadership including suspension from games or the revoking of team members' registration from the league. Kickball on KCAL TVDuring the Fall 2005 season, reporter John Ireland of KCAL-9 TV here in Los Angeles came out to film a segment on a typical night of WAKA Hollywood kickball. It's probably one of the best stories ever done on the Division, capturing the competitive nature of kickball as well as the social aspects. Thanks again to John for coming out at featuring us.
