FIRST DIVISION CONTEST OF THE YEAR!!!!!

Yes folks, I am not above shoveling my work upon the players and thinly veiling it as a “contest.” But then again, why can't one lucky person benefit from my laziness? I am not really lazy, but I am pretty incompetent when it comes to graphic design.

The first contest of the year is the “Division Logo Design Contest!!”

It really is self-explanatory. The player who designs the best new logo for DC Gold wins. Not only will the lucky player get to see their art displayed on the webpage for seasons to come, but I will also throw in a sweet prize.

Some rules: Nothing offensive, inappropriate, vulgar, or downright gross. I think we are all adults here, so you should all know what flies, and what doesn’t. If you want an idea of what we are looking for, go to www.kickball.com/dccapital and check out the logo on their page.

The voting on the new logo will take place at the pre-season captain’s meeting by the team captains, the board, the WAKA Rep., and myself, the WAKA manager. The logo needs to be in .jpg format, and large enough to fit on the page without stretching it out to ugly proportions. All submissions are due by 3/15/2010. Send them to slangbauer@kickball.com.

Join us for "WAKA Night" with DC United!!

After the success of our first DC United WAKA Night back in October, the wonderful people at DC United are crazy enough to have us back!! The game is Saturday, April 17th at 7 PM. Just like last time, we will be doing some tailgating, and they will provide us with tents and tables for Flip Cup. WAKA will bring all the beer. The discount price we got is $26 per ticket. We will all be grouped in the same seating area, and that price also includes unlimited beer at the tailgate until we run out. Last October, we still had half a keg left when they kicked us out of the parking lot around 11 PM. Click on the link below, enter the discount code "WAKA", and follow the instructions to create an account, then buy your ticket(s). And yes, you can buy tickets for your non-WAKA friends! The more the merrier! Last time we had almost 150 players show up, I'm looking to shatter that number this Spring!!

Founders Cup 2010
