Key Info

  • Price: $TBD/per player through Date TBD -   $TBD/per player through Date TBD - $TBD/per player till season begins
  • Team roster is 12 players min, 18 player max
  • Rosters must have at least 5 girls and 5 guys
  • 8 Players on the field at one time (typically 5 guys, 3 girls)
  • You can play with a minimum of 6 players, with at least 2 females but never more than 5 males.
  • Don't have a full team?  No worries, you can sign up as a small group or free agent and we will find you a team to play on!  (see below about signing up as a team, small group, or free agent)
  • Every effort has been made by rule and appropriate penalty to eliminate contact, roughness, injury, unfair tactics and un-sportsmanlike conduct.
  • Any unsportsmanlike conduct will be met with a zero-tolerance policy.  This is WAKA Flag Football, FUN is always FIRST!
  • Post-game we will all head to our sponsor bar for some food, drinks, and bar games!

  • 7 week regular season +1 week of playoffs
  • Game times: 12:00 pm, and 1:00 pm
  • Post-game we will all head to our sponsor bar, TBD, for some food and drinks!
  • Mid-Season and end of Season WAKA Social Sports party with free food and free beer for all registered players!

Key Game Rules

  • Teams must use a female as an operative play within 3 consecutive downs
  • There is no blocking and no contact at or behind the line of scrimmage
  • First downs are obtained by crossing your own 20 yd line and opponent’s 20 yd line.
  • The rusher will start 10 yards back.

Full Rules

Captains

  • Are you a captain or aspiring captain wondering about how to start a team?  First you want to register yourself, then start a "friend group".  Your friend group will become a team* after registration closes (*assuming you have enough players signed up).  If you don't have enough players signed up by the deadline, its not a big deal, we will add a small group or free agents you to your team to make a full roster!

Small Groups

  • Do you have a group of friends (anywhere from 2-10 players) who would like to sign up and play on the same team together?  No problem!  What you want to do is register and start a 'friend group'.  After registration closes, your friend group will be merged with other friend group(s) or free agents to make a full team.

Free Agents

  • Plan on going solo?  Perfect.  Nearly 50 percent of the players in WAKA leagues first started as free agents or small friend groups.  That's how easy it is to meet new people and make new friends.  So don't worry - go ahead and sign up and we'll be sure to check with you to put you on a fun team that's a perfect fit for you!

Corporations

  • Thinking your company would be interested in sponsoring a whole squad for a good team-building/networking activity?  No problem.  When you register you'll see an option for you to pay for any number of individuals.  Then you'll get an email with coupon codes which you can pass out to your players when they register.


  

Winter 2018

  • Jan 21st:  Registration Deadline for Bar Logo T-shirts (5PM) (unless we sell out sooner)‚Äč
  • February 18th:  Final Registration Deadline (5PM) (unless we sell out sooner)
  • February 11th:  First Regular Season Games
  • March 25th:  Regular Season Ends (may change)
  • April 1st:  'SUPER SUNDAY' All-Teams Playoffs! 

 

 This season our games will be played at SYAA (Fletcher Morgan Park) 6736 Beach Blvd.  

    

After the games we all head to our sponsor bar, TBD

One thing to note: Everyone wears their kickball shirt to the bar afterwards. Trust me if you change your shirt you will feel out of place! Don't be that guy (or gal).

- Player shirts will be handed out week 1, before the first games.
- The season schedule will be posted approx 1 week before our first games.
- The season schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather and other factors beyond our control.
- We highly recommend all players read the game rules prior to the start of the season.
- Cleats are recommended but they are not required.  No metal cleats are allowed.
