We are EXCITED to announce that WAKA Kickball & Social Sports is now CLUBWAKA!
Throughout the years, we’ve expanded the number of ways you can have fun, however our company’s brand has remained narrowly focused on kickball. We often receive questions like… “Why does my t-shirt say Kickball.com when I play volleyball?” We agree!
In order to be more inclusive, we are officially changing our name to CLUBWAKA!
When it comes to moving to a new city, there are so many exhilarating moments and adventures around every corner. It’s a super exciting time, but it can also be daunting to meet new friends and build a new network.
Luckily, we’ve got your bases covered with weekly social sports leagues and events so you can join up, find your new crew, and focus on having fun in your new place.
Costumes and theme week parties have long been a part of WAKA Kickball & Social Sports, but over the years have become a staple part of the WAKA lifestyle. Many players dress up with their teams for theme nights throughout the season, and some teams sneak in surprise themes or have different costumes for each week.
Are you a single social sports player? Here are 5 ways to meet someone new this season:
1. Join a new team of free agents in the league. You'll expand your social circle with fifteen new friends instead of the same guys and gals you hang out with every season. Just email the league coordinator with your request when you register.
Friends, happy hour cocktails, and a smart phone in your hand. These days, most of us are juggling a million emails and phone calls and are plugged into our devices all the time. Whether we’re hanging out at the pool or going to a concert, we end up staring at screens and responding to notifications for the majority of the day.
Having our smart phones, tablets, or laptops always at the ready can create a lot of FOMO, anxiety, and stress. It can also be limiting to your social life if you are glued to your screen instead of interacting with the people around you.
Could joining a social sports team be just what you need to take a break from technology?
Playing in a social sports league has lots of perks like meeting (or hooking up) with other people. Social sports leagues have tons of opportunities for parties, games, themed events, and adventures and you’ll have fun sharing the fun with the cute girls on your team.
Here’s advice from women who play WAKA Kickball & Social Sports about how to strike up conversation with the ladies in your league:
