The 2008 Founders Cup World Kickball Championship® will be held Labor Day Weekend - August 30, 2008 at Desert Breeze Park
in Las Vegas, Nevada!
This year we're doing Founders Cup by Vegas Standards - at night and under the city lights!
This weekend includes social events along with exciting tournament play which will be held on Saturday, August 30 all
Celebrating Ten Years of Kickball!
Each eligible WAKA division has the potential to qualify up to three teams for Founders Cup® XI. In each eligible
division, the teams that qualify are:
The regular season champions
The division tournament (playoffs) champions
The division tournament runners-up (2nd place)
Each team that qualifies for Founders Cup® XI will receive on field notification from their WAKA Division Representative along
with a flyer with additional information regarding Founders Cup® XI. Official invitations will be sent out via
e-mail
by the WAKA Events Department to all qualifying teams on July 15, 2008 and these teams will have until July 25, 2008 to accept or
decline their invitation with a refundable deposit.
The Tournament will be limited to 64
teams total and all teams will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. Once all
tournament spaces are filled, a waiting list will be made available to eligible teams that place a deposit.
Shuttle service will be available to and from The Platinum Hotel on the day of the games. Specific shuttle times will be made available closer to the event.

Please be aware that Las Vegas in late August will likely be very hot, so it is important to come prepared for the heat. Some things you may want to bring with you to the tournament are:
Water and Sports Drinks that contain electrolytes
A Hat
Sunscreen
Wash cloths or towels
A change of clothes
(Additional misted cooling tents will be available at the fields.)
The WAKA store will be offering stocked coolers which can be purchased ahead of time online and made available for pickup the day of the event. The WAKA store will be on site at the tournament offering WAKA gear and tournament items.

$165 per night for up to four people. Additional people extra.

Friday 8/29: 5-7 pm Crazy Happy Hour at 'Stir' in the Platinum Hotel
($10 buckets and $2 off WAKA Cocktails)
At 7pm, head to the Platinum Pool to check out all the hotties watching to see what WAKA is all about, with our feature presentation of the FCXI Winning Video, the movie '21', and
an exclusive Maroon 5 concert video!
Saturday 8/30: FCXI (start time TBD)
Anybody who is anybody will be at the fields checking out all the action (and we don't mean flip cup yet) during the 11th Annual WAKA World Kickball Championship!
FCXI will be played Under the Lights (with a sweet view of The Strip) and there will be an air-conditioned hydration tent, full of all our favorite beverages.
Bringing that special someone? Get them a 'Beer Band' for $25 so they can have as much fun as the rest of us. On SALE in the WAKA Store late this month!
Las Vegas will be the home of the world-record WAKA Flip Cup tourney where staff will dare to take on any players and teams who don't get scared away. The debauchery will begin at
2pm at O'Shea's on The Strip. No hooking up in bathrooms or corner, they throw you out for that. Or maybe not, it is Vegas after all.
