11 Tips for Tailgating in Cold Weather

The season of cold weather tailgating is upon us. Whether you’re the occasional tailgate visitor, or spend most fall weekends playing host, a little cold shouldn’t keep you from your friends or the fun.

Keep your game day strong with these tips and hacks for tailgating in the cold from CLUBWAKA members: 

1. “Keep a poncho in the trunk of your car. Getting soaked really sucks.” - Zach S

2. “Prep your food ahead of time. Things like kebabs or fajitas are super easy. Just chop all the veggies, and marinate the meat at home the night before.”

3. “Wear a onesie in your team’s colors” - Amanda R

4. “Pack thermoses of hot cider or hot cocoa (and mix them with rum or peppermint schnapps).” - Shannon D

5. “Bring a pre-packed box of essentials - cups, koozies, paper towels, utensils, lighters,etc so eveything stays dry.” - Steve W. 

6. “Set up a bar area - preferably under a pop-up tent in case it rains.” - Joey N.

7. “Make a crock pot of chili at home and bring toppings to serve at the game.”

8. “Bring games and make nice with the other tailgaters around you. Corn hole, ladder ball, beer pong table + cups, playing cards, a football… all good options.”
