Best WAKA Charity Events of 2014

WAKA Kickball & Social Sports players have had an amazing year of creative, fun, and successful volunteerism and charity events! Collectively, WAKA players raised more than $50,000 this year and have created meaningful contributions to the cities in which they play.

WAKA has compiled a list of some of the best events of 2014 so you can relive all the good feelings that community service brings and also catch up things you may have missed.

1. WAKA players in SoCal played a reverse co-ed Charity tournament (reverse co-ed = lots of girls and fun) and raised more than $5,000 for local charities including the Children's Hospital Los Angeles!

2. The AZ Blister League raised over $6,000 with weekly team donations for the American Diabetes Association!

3. WAKA players in New Orleans raised $17,317.85 for Team Gleason with a charity kickball tournament!

4. The TX Thunder League filled three huge rooms with donated school supplies for Peak Preparatory, the school where the league plays each week. The school does amazing work promoting college education for under privileged kids.

5. Over President's Day Weekend, 13 WAKA Kickball teams from across the Southwest went to Scottsdale, Arizona to play and party at the WAKA Rock N Roll Classic - a weekend featuring lots of live music, a kickball tournament, and 3 incredible parties in Old Town Scottsdale. Not only was the weekend a blast, through the generous support of WAKA players in attendance, the event raised more than $2,000 for Arizona's Children Association.

6. WAKA players in Connecticut held a series of fun fundraisers this year including a Santa bar crawl to collect over $6,000 for Kick-It.

A very BIG thank you to all WAKA volunteers for your enthusiasm and hard work. If you want to get involved, please join a league here!
