How to Go Greener this Earth Day

For as much as we love playing social sports and adventuring outdoors, it's time we start paying attention to the earth and being a bit more mindful about how our daily routines affect the planet.

In honor of Earth Day, we’ve put together some practical, easy tips to help you go a little greener.

Spend time outside and appreciate nature. Warmer, longer days mean you have more chances to spend time outdoors. Get your family and friends together to play a game, plant an herb garden, explore your neighborhood, or go for a hike.

Reconsider how you get around. Do you and your teammates all drive yourselves to your CLUBWAKA games every week? Try a team carpool, share an Uber, or better yet, ride your bike.

Get a reusable water bottle. Plastic bottles can leak chemicals and contribute to a lot of waste. Get a bottle that you can reuse - like this!

Recycle your cleats, sneakers, athletic clothing, and sporting goods. Go through your closet and donate lightly worn shoes or athletic clothes that you no longer wear to a local charity.

Opt for draft beer instead of bottles. Make your social hour at the league bar a bit less wasteful by ordering draft beer or pitchers instead of bottles.

Make a meal and share it. Try making foods that you would normally buy packaged or ready-made like hummus or'll learn something delicious and reduce your kitchen waste. Ask your friends to do the same and have a party or picnic to celebrate Earth Day.

Organize a park clean up or volunteer to help beautify a place that is special to you.
