WAKA Kickball & Social Sports Offers Charity Kickball Tournament for Team Gleason and ALS

On September 20th, hundreds of WAKA kickball players in New Orleans will take to the fields in support of Team Gleason and to spread awareness about ALS. The 2nd Annual WAKA Charity Kickball Tournament to be held at City Park Festival Grounds, is open to anyone aged 21 or older and team registration is now open. Teams will include advocates, families, friends and children of those affected by ALS, and we are sure there will be lots of "Ice Bucket Challenges" in the mix.

Team Gleason was started by Steve Gleason who was a standout special teams player for the New Orleans Saints. The Mission of Team Gleason is to help provide individuals with neuromuscular diseases or injuries with leading edge technology, equipment and services and to to create a global conversation about ALS to ultimately find solutions and an end to ALS.

Last year, WAKA Kickball & Social Sports raised $22,372 for Team Gleason and more than 300 kickball players from around the city participated to raise funds to improve the lives of people affected by ALS.
