Where in the World is WAKA?

On location and touring around the nation—WAKA Kickball players always on vacation!  Check out all the places WAKA players have gone recently:

Waka in Iraq

WAKA Kickball is proud to support our men and women serving our country overseas.  The service men and women in Iraq were excited to receive full WAKA Kickball equipment bags for the holidays, as a donation to the Moral Welfare and Recreation programs.  “We have a tournament for our whole company planned next month! Everyone is excited about the tournament, and we planned it around the time our replacements arrive, that gives us more time to play during the day.” Sgt Kevin M. Collins.

WAKA in Dubai

In November 2008, team members from “Shake n Bake” and “Team Awesome” of the MO Kansas City League took a trip to Dubai.  This photo is of the kickballers and the camel they rode through the desert of the Middle East!  From left to right: Gina D., Megan S., Deanna D., Tiffany K. and Jeni D.

WAKA in Cape Town

Andy B., Brad F. and Thomas H. of the “Playground Bullies” in the FL Bayshore League traveled to all parts of South Africa.  This picture was taken on top of Table Mountain in Cape Town, SA.  Their WAKA Kickball shirts were also seen while cage diving with great white sharks and on safari.

In memory of Lief Nissen

Pictured is part of a group of 21 kickballers, from five different teams of the FL Bayshore League, living it up on a snorkeling trip this past summer in Key West. They recently lost one of the league’s most loved kickballers, Lief Nissen, (pictured next to his wife Heather in the top left corner) in a devastating car accident.  Players from the trip as well as some fellow “Ligers” and “Alcoballics” have formed a team called the "Superstars" in tribute to Lief and will be taking the FL Bayshore League by storm this season in his memory.

Kickball mosaic

Matt W. (KOTH award winner) put together a WAKA Kickball logo photo mosaic.  There are 1200 unique pictures that make up this 1600 picture mosaic.  All the pictures are from FL Coconut and FL Grove Leagues.  WOW!

WAKA Kickball cake

The team captain of “Dunder Miflin” in FL Tarpon League celebrated her birthday this year with her team and a party that only grade school kickballers would enjoy, including a piñata that was broken open by kicking.  Check out the kickball themed cake!  “As you can see in FL we love our kickball and even had cupcakes that look like the ball.” – Kimberlee S.
