Tourney Time!!!

Hey there, you Kickball Krazies!!

First of all, pat yourself on the back for surviving a(nother) season of CA Bayshore! It been a wild 9 weeks of flying red rubber balls, "interesting" costumes, and maybe a drink or two.

But now is when things get SUPER FUN! This Saturday, August 3rd (yes, tomorrow) is the End of Season Tournament. Bring some drinks, bring some food, and bring your awesomeness. One note: There will be an Alameda Parks and Rec guy there for/with us on Saturday. Feel free to drink, but secondary containers, koozies, and overall covertness are probably smart.

Now that the lame stuff is out of the way, here is how the tournament is going to work:

Because we have a smaller league, and LLD and FIU are combining forces (both teams would have had to forfeit), our standard tournament would be too short and boring. We're going to get a little creative.

EVERY TEAM IS GUARANTEED AT LEAST 2 GAMES!! We are going to have "Pool Play" before the semi-finals. In Pool Play a Win=1 point, a Tie=.5 and a Loss=0 points. Because the Thunder Buddies finished the regular season as the #1 seed they will start with a half point at the beginning. This gives them an advantage, but does not guarantee them a semi-final spot.

At the end of pool play,if there is a tie in points, the tie breaker will be runs allowed (if Team A gave up 3 runs, and Team B gives up 4, Team A is the higher seed). The top 4 teams in points advance to the semi-finals.

Here is the schedule for Pool Play:

11:30am Grass - (3) Imperial Walkers vs. (5) Liver Let Die/FIU (ref JS)
12:20pm - League Photo
12:30pm Dirt - (1) Thunder Buddies vs. (5) Liver Let Die/FIU (ref IW)

Grass - (2) BrownChickenBrownCow vs. (4) Jumbo Shrimp (ref IW)
1:30pm Dirt - (1) Thunder Buddies vs. (4) Jumbo Shrimp (ref LLD/FIU)
Grass - (2) BrownChickenBrownCow vs. Imperial Walkers (ref LLD/FIU)

The higher seed is always the home team (no Rock, Paper, Scissors). After Pool Play, we will re-seed accordingly, and continue on with the Semi-Finals and Finals. If we are quick about things we should be finished with the entire tournament between 4:30 and 5:00.

Let's have an amazing day of kickball in the sun!

One last thing, in the last email you recieved I informed you the End of Season Party would be on Saturday, August 17th. Because of a scheduling conflict with WAKA's Battle of the Bay in San Francisco that day, the Party is going to be on Friday, August 16th. Again, stay tuned for details. I'm working on Karaoke and Pizza.
