CA Viking Social League Policies

CA Viking’s Social League is based on F-U-N! This league has been designed to maximize your fun potential both on and off the field. By providing players with an experience that is more than just kickball we are helping foster the best friends aspect of CLUBWAKA’s core values. We want our players to look forward to game nights knowing they will see their friends while engaging light social competition. We reward our player's socializing by awarding social points to their team. Below outlines the rules and goals behind CA Viking's social league.
 
The Basics:
The purpose of the social league is for each team to gather as many social points as possible, the team with the most points at the conclusion of week 8 is crowned Social Champions. The teams in the social league will mirror the teams in kickball, no trading of players between the kickball and social leagues.
 
Below are the games/events in which a team can participate to score points. We’ll provide a brief overview of the game, rules, and points awarded. Any photos or videos taken should be posted to our Facebook group:

Night Owl Bar Photo:

  • Where: At our locally sponsored bar
  • When: All game nights at 11:00pm
  • Points: One point for the first person of each team, then 1 point for every 4 players after the first person (capped at 4 points). For example: 1-4 players – 1 point, 5-8 players – 2 points, 9-12 players – 3 points, and 13+ players – 4 points 
  • What: At 11:00pm on all game nights, all registered kickballers at the bar can take one group photo. (Please be a good sport and actively announce a Night Owl Bar photo)
  • How: Post the photo to our Facebook group page with the hashtags of: #wakanightowls and #wakacaviking. Points will be awarded upon Viking admins reviewing the photo.

Photo/Video Challenges:

  • Where: On the field or at the locally sponsored bar
  • When: As per the social schedule. Photos must be posted on the night of the challenge
  • Points: 1st place – 4 points, 2nd place – 3 points, 3rd place – 2 point, and participation - 1 point
  • What: According to the social schedule, when a team is ready either on the field or at the bar they may take their photo or video challenge
  • How: Post the photo or video to our Facebook group page with the hashtags of: #challengename, #yourteamname, and #wakacaviking. Points will be awarded upon Viking admins reviewing all photos

Theme Nights (On Field):

  • Where: On the kickball field
  • When: As per the social schedule, during kickball game times. Photos must be posted on the day of the challenge
  • Points: 1st place – 4 points, 2nd place – 3 points, 3rd place – 2 point, and participation - 1 point
  • What: According to the social schedule, when a team is ready on the field they may take their photo or video challenge
  • How: Post the photo or video to our Facebook group page with the hashtags of: #challengename, #yourteamname, and #wakacaviking. Points will be awarded upon Viking admins reviewing all photos

Theme Nights (At Bar):

  • Where: At our locally sponsored bar
  • When: As per the social schedule, points will be given at 9pm
  • Points: 2 points to the team(s) with 6 or more people at the bar in costume
  • What: Bring that spirit off the field and into the bar. As per the social schedule, the most spirited teams at the bar with six or more players will be awarded points
  • How: Just bring 6 or more of your “in-costume” teammates to the bar. Post the photo to our Facebook grop page and points will be awarded upon a Viking admin will verify the 6 or more players in costume

Bar Games (Flip Cup – Free For All):

  • Where: At our locally sponsored bar
  • When: Officially scheduled games will begin at 9pm
  • Points: 1 point for every two team members participating. 3 point maximum.
  • What: Line up for a game of flip cup. Doesn’t matter whether you win or lose, just need to try your best. Grab a fellow teammate or 3 or 5 to play in a CA Viking promoted game.
  • How: Wait for a designated Viking admin to start the game and tally the points.

Bar Games (Flip Cup – Team):

  • Where: At our locally sponsored bar
  • When: Officially scheduled games will begin at 9pm
  • Points: 1 point to the winner per game. The only scoring combinations: 3-0, 2-1, 1-2, or 0-3
  • What: You may have lost on the field, but time for some redemption at the bar. You’ll play your kickball opponent at flip cup. A minimum of four players are needed, the maximum number of players matches the team with the fewest number of players present. You’ll play three games. Standard flip cup rules apply, first side to flip all their cups wins. You cannot reschedule your challenge to the following week.
  • How: Wait for a designated Viking admin to start the game and tally the points.

Bar Games (Rage Cage):

  • Where: At our locally sponsored bar
  • When: Officially scheduled games will begin at 9pm
  • Points: 3 points awarded to the player causing the second player to drink the last beer. 2 points awarded to the player who drinks the last beer 1 point awarded to the third to last player.
  • What: Circle around for a game of rage cage. At least three teams need to be present
  • How: Wait for a designated Viking admin to start the game and award points.

Bar Challenge (Strength in Numbers):

  • Where: At our locally sponsored bar
  • When: Team picture taken at 9pm
  • Points: One point for the first person of each team, then 1 point for every 4 players after the first person (capped at 4 points). For example: 1-4 players – 1 point, 5-8 players – 2 points, 9-12 players – 3 points, and 13+ players – 4 points
  • What: A picture of you and your teammates at the bar
  • How: Take a photo at 9pm of your team and post to our Facebook group page points will be awarded upon Viking admins reviewing all photos

Outside of WAKA:

  • Where: Anywhere
  • When: Outside of any WAKA funded or promoted event
  • Points: To encourage as much socialization as possible, we score single and multi-team gatherings differently
    • Single team gathering: 1 point for the first person and 1 point awarded for every 4 subsequent players per team (capped at 4 points). For example: 1-4 players – 1 point, 5-8 players – 2 points, 9-12 players – 3 points, and 13+ players – 4 points
    • Multi-team gathering: 1 point for the first person and 1 point awarded for every 2 subsequent players per team (capped at 5 points). For example: 1-2 players – 1 point, 3-4 players – 2 points, 5-6 players – 3 points, 7-8 players – 4 points, and 9+ players – 5 points
  • What: This is just more than hanging out at the house on a Friday night or your regularly scheduled happy hour. Host an event (i.e. a BBQ or a house party) or schedule an outing (i.e. attending a sporting event or going to the water park) with other kickballers. A minimum of 4 players must be present. At a time best to all participants, take a group photo. The catch is, to be counted for points you need to have your kickball shirt on for the photo
  • How: Post the photo using the hashtags of: #CAVikingbestfriends and #wakacaviking

 
Other Notable Policies:

  • Game/Bar conduct: Every player is to participate safely and act in the best interest of all players on the field and at the bar. WAKA reserves the right to remove players due to conduct and to act in the best interest of the league.
  • Players should ensure they drink responsibly and have a safe ride home.
  • Be inclusive of all kickballers. Players or teams found to be purposely excluding players from photos or events, will have their event points forfeited
  • If you don’t post on-time or use the appropriate hashtags, tough luck
