WAKA 5 v 5 Sand Volleyball OVERVIEW
THE BASICS
Each team consists of no more than 5 players on the court at one time with rotating subs.
Teams may play with 3 females/2 males, 2 females/3 males, or 4 females/1 male, with 2 females on the court at all times
Teams will have 1 hour to play a match
1 match is 3 total games to 21 each scheduled time; 1 hour allotted
Team must win by 2 to 21 points or first to 25 points
All games will play using all-rally scoring rules and no sideouts
TEAM REQUIREMENTS
A full team consists of 6 players. Teams may play with 3 females/2 males, 2 females/3 males, or 4 females/1 male, with 2 females on the court at all times.
If a team has less players with a minimum of 2 females it will be considered a legal game.
There is no roster max limit.
GAME PLAY
Each game will start with rock, paper, scissors. The winning team will have one of two options, choose to serve first or choose which side they prefer to play on, (not both).
Each match will consist of three games.
Each game will count in the overall standings for regular season standings.
Matches will be played within the allotted timeslot.
All games are played to 21 win by 2 or first to 25.
One time-out per game, per team is allowed.
Rally/speed scoring will be enforced.
NETS
Nets that are approximately 3 inches above women’s height nets will be used for Coed Play.
GAME FORFEITS

​If you do not meet the minimum requirements, first game will be forfeited 10 minutes after start time. The entire match will be forfeited at 15 minutes after start time.
Teams with less than 2 women may still play a match for fun!
PLAYOFFS
Games will be played as the best 2 out of 3 to 21 win by 2 or first to 25.
One time-out per game is allowed. ALL GAMES ARE TEAM REFFED.
There will be no obligation on the onsite staff to referee games, however the onsite staff will be made available to help interpret rules or if there are any discrepancies between the two teams that need to be addressed.
Captains are responsible for reporting the results of their game to the Community Coordinator.
