Key Info

  • 7 week regular season starting August 26th, 2018!
  • Games are Sunday mornings.
  • An all day all teams playoffs on October 21st, 2018!
  • Team rosters must consist of 5 females and 5 males, 14 players minimum, 18 players maximum. (12 maximum males).
  • 8 players on the field at one time (typically 5 guys, 3 girls).
  • You can play with a minimum of 6 players, with at least 2 females but never more than 5 males.
  • Don't have a full team? No worries, you can sign up as a small group or free agent and we will find you a team to play on! (See below about signing up as a team, small group, or free agent).
  • Every effort has been put into rules and appropriate penalties to eliminate contact, roughness, injury, unfair tactics and un-sportsmanlike conduct.
  • Any unsportsmanlike conduct will be met with a zero-tolerance policy. This is CLUBWAKA Flag Football, FUN is always FIRST!

**You must meet all three team minimums (14 of total players, 5 of females, 5 of males) BEFORE the league becomes password protected to ensure free agents are NOT added to your team. If you do NOT meet the three requirements, the coordinator can and will add free agents/friend groups to your team in order to meet the league requirements.**

What is WAKA's refund policy?
WAKA does not offer refunds once you have registered for a league season, with the following exceptions:

  • the season is canceled before official league play begins
  • medical incapacity before the start of the league season (requires doctor's note to local customer service representative)
  • call-ups to military service before the start of the league season (requires documentation to local customer service representative)

Player movement between leagues:
If you sign up for a league and it fills prior to your group signing up, we can move you to another league if:

  • It's the same sport and same price.
  • The league you signed up for has not started.
  • The league you want to move to has not started. 
  • There is space in the league you want to move to.

If you sign up for a league and can no longer play, we can move you to another league if:

  • It's the same sport and same price.
  • The league you signed up for has not started.
  • The league you want to move to has not started.

    Key Game Rules

    • Teams must use a female as an operative play within 3 consecutive downs.
    • There is no blocking and no contact at or behind the line of scrimmage.
    • First downs are obtained by crossing your own 20 yard line, midfield and opponent’s 20 yard line.
    • The rush will be as follows: 1-1000, 2-1000, 3-1000, 4-1000 GO!! (defense may rush on the word GO).
    • Refs are responsible for shouting out the rush count.

    Are you a captain or aspiring captain wondering about how to start a team? First you want to register yourself, then start a "friend group". Your friend group will become a team* after registration closes (*assuming you have enough players signed up). If you don't have enough players signed up by the deadline, it's not a big deal, we will add a small group or free agents you to your team to make a full roster!

    Small Groups

    Do you have a group of friends (anywhere from 2-10 players) who would like to sign up and play on the same team together? No problem!  What you want to do is register and start a 'friend group'. After registration closes, your friend group will be merged with another friend group(s) or free agents to make a full team.

    Free Agents

    Plan on going solo? Perfect. Nearly 50 percent of the players in CLUBWAKA leagues first started as free agents or small friend groups. That's how easy it is to meet new people and make new friends. So don't worry - go ahead and sign up and we'll be sure to check with you to put you on a fun team that's a perfect fit for you!

    Corporate Teams

    Thinking your company would be interested in sponsoring a whole squad for a good team-building/networking activity? No problem. When you register, you'll see an option for you to pay for any number of individuals. Then you'll get an email with coupon codes which you can pass out to your players when they register.     • July 31: Price increases to $84.
    • Aug 8: Registration deadline for Teams and Bar-logo T-shirt (unless league sells out sooner).
    • Aug 17: Registration deadline to have shirt by Week 1 (unless leagues sells out sooner).
    • Aug 26: First week of Regular Season!
    • Sept 2: No Games - Labor Day Weekend!
    • Sept 15: All fall leagues party!
    • Oct 14: Regular Season Ends!
    • Oct 21: All-teams Playoffs!
    • Oct 27: Halloween Party!

    One thing to note: Everyone wears their CLUBWAKA shirt to the bar afterwards. Trust me if you change your shirt you will feel out of place! Don't be that guy (or gal).

    Miscellaneous Information

    • Majority of players shirts will be handed out week 1, before the first games. If you registered up to 72 hours prior to the season, you'll get your shirt week 2.
    • The season schedule will be posted approximately 1 week before our first games.
    • The season schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather and other factors beyond our control.
    • We highly recommend all players read the game rules prior to the start of the season.
    • Cleats are recommended but they are not required. No metal cleats are allowed.
